About the car

The Nissan Skyline is one of Japan's most famous and admired automotive products of all time. Brought to light in the western world after the release of the Playstation game Gran Turismo, the great-performing sedan/coupé has made its appearance in several movies and became almost 'cult' material for car lovers. In its most aggresive version, the GT-R series, the RB26DETT engine produces 280 BHP and 266 lb-ft torque, which can be delivered to both front and back wheels in proportions varying from 50-50 to 0-100. Acceleration from 0 to 60 MPH takes roughly 5 seconds, and in less than 13 seconds putting the pedal to the metal you'll have run a quarter mile. This is classic "Japanese muscle" in its purest form.

About the print

Yes, it's supposed to be a print. Which leaves me a bit uncertain about having chosen the right category, but what the hell. I have a great passion for the Skyline, which began to develop during those fondly-remembered afternoons playing Gran Turismo about 6 years ago. With the very nice Photo Mode that GT4 brought us, it was possible for me to make a little dream come true: placing on my wall a poster with the most important phases in the history of this impressive car. After about two months playing the game to obtain all the cars and take photographies of them, it is finally ready. Even though that poster is still not on my wall (I've just finished it about half an hour ago, still gotta find somewhere I can print it), I feel it's gonna look really great there. Some of you might notice that the latest production models (the 35 series) are missing. That is not an accident, I've done it on purpose because I do not consider those cars Skylines, and in my opinion Nissan destroyed the legacy they'd created with the 35 series. All I can hope for is that they can restore the car to its former glory with the upcoming Proto GT-R.

Well, I think I've said enough. Just one last thing, would anybody happen to know if I could sell this as a print via DA without braking any copyright violation policies? Thanks a lot for viewing this!

so you finally got'em all? XD (sounded a bit pokemon-esque)
looks great, but in my opinion you should include the R35s, I know they're just infinities with badges but I mean, they are officially skylines....
Anywho, I really like this poster, so if DA lets you sell the prints, tell me so i can get one ^^

Yeah, I actually did consider putting one of the 35s in (they pain me so much that I don't even like calling them Rs), but in the end I concluded that they're not 'worthy' of the Skyline name :) So maybe this poster should be named "Skyline History According to Paulo Becker" :D Thanks for the comment ^_^

Great work Paulo! I feel the effort you've made through this poster. I sympathize with your worry about copyright infringement -- I mean, the models of the cars ARE part & parcel of GT4. But, perhaps if you try to contact the makers of the game, maybe they'll be more than willing to give you more for you to release it in print and sale. =D

Thanks also for notifying me of this lovely new work -- I should :+devwatch: you so you don't have to waste energy sending me notes :lmao:. I'd get me a copy of your poster if I could!

You're definitely THE Skyline artist here in devart.

Wow thanks a lot for the kind words :D And many many thanks for the fav!

Though I do worry about GT4-related licensing stuff, my biggest concern is with the Skyline and Nissan brands. And in the end I think it would be too troublesome asking both companies for permissions and all the legal crap... But who knows, if I get enough positive feedback from this then I just might try it :)

Nice work, a big fan of the GT R34. Too bad they're illegal in Texas, exhaust emissions... I don't really get it considering we have all these big fuggin' trucks that pratically belch, fart, and exhale black smoke... *shrugs* Good work, I like how you've kept with this idea.
